The Publi PDF components
Standard edition
The standard edition of Publi PDF comes with the following components:
- QueueMonDLL.dll, which is an Apartment Threaded ActiveX DLL component that provide the functionality required for receiving notifications from the Windows Print Spooler Subsystem, building queues to monitor etc.
- PubliPDF.exe, which is a wrapper that implements functionality to run QueueMonDLL.dll as a NT Service monitoring unattended queues that are configurable at runtime.
- PubliPDFService.exe, which installs/uninstalls the Publi PDF NT Service component (PubliPDF.exe) as a NT Service. PubliPDFService.exe has a limited Command Line Interface.
- PubliClient.exe, which is wrapper that implements functionality to run QueueMonDLL.dll as a client application that monitor attended queues. It also provide a runtime User Interface that allow users to interfere with the document creation process. Additionally it offers a GUI for easy configuration of both attended and unattended queues. This GUI can fully simulate unattended behavior when the logged in user has granted the same rights as the user that starts PubliPDF.exe as a NT Service.
- PDFViewer.exe, which is a very simple, but extremely fast PDF Viewer component based on the XPDF technology that can open, display and print a PDF document. PDFViewer.exe has a quite extended Command Line Interface.
- QueueInstaller.exe, which you normally should use to install new Publi PDF printer instances. QueueInstaller.exe has a Command Line Interface that makes it easy to setup deployment scripts for installing, removing or re-installing Publi PDF printer instances (queues).
- ManipulatePDF.exe, which implements a simple GUI for printing and concatenating a list of PDF documents.

Plug-in modules
The standard edition of Publi PDF can be expanded with plug-in modules. Currently the following plug-in modules are available:
- Publi PDF Optimizer (formerly known as CMYK PDF Creator), which implements support for conversion according to pre-defined color maps, insertion of crop marks etc, scaling and many other useful things. The Optimizer plug-in is especially designed to make conversion into Press-ready PDF documents. Among other things you can convert any input Gray, RGB, CMYK or spot color to new CMYK or new spot colors of your choice, or any CMYK/spot/tint combination. The features of Publi PDF Optimizer are in particular useful when you work with applications like MS Office, MapInfo, ArcView, Adobe Framemaker and similar applications.
- Publi PDF Stamper, which implements support for automated insertion of water marks, letter heads etc.
- Publi PDF Analyzer (formerly known as Colour Chameleon), which makes it possible to retrieve color information from a document and build custom color maps for use with the Publi PDF Optimizer plug-in.
These plug-ins are currently included and follows the standard edition.
